Drink Up: Peeptini (but not the disgusting kind)

At this point in our relationship I’m pretty sure you know I have a strong adoration for Peeps. One of the questionable Easter trends that pops up on the internet this time of year is the “Peeptini.” If you asked me what a Peeptini should be I would say “a traditional vodka martini with a Peep instead of an olive,” but that does not sound delicious (vodka soaked gummy bears on the other hand is a whole different story friends).  I was confused about why this was a popular cocktail besides the  fact that people like to incorporate Peeps into ANY Easter recipe.

I did some research, and by “research” I mean Pinterest, to discover that the Peeptini is actually just a million versions of the same disgusting, overly sweet drink. The common horrifying ingredient in most of the recipes was flavored vodka.  Everything from marshmallow to vanilla to whipped cream (are you gagging yet?) was then mixed with some sort of sweet juice or other liqueur and served in a glass that was rimmed with, you guessed it, sugar. All of these drinks should be renamed “Hangover Guaranteed-tini ” or “Pre Diabetes-tini.” I decided I could do better, much better, so here are two non-disgusting Peeptini cocktails that your friends won’t have to choke down and lie about being delicious so they don’t hurt your feelings.

These cocktails pair perfectly with my other Easter projects:
