Full disclosure: I am not a Valentines Day person. I think paying for overpriced flowers, candy, or dinners is silly. I do like making something special for someone that says “hey, you are are pretty awesome and I love you.” Valentines Day should be about love for your family, your kids, your pets, your besties, and your significant other (if you don’t have one you were too good for all those other jerks you previously dated anyway). This bubbly grapefruit-mango cocktail is as pretty as it is delicious so invite over someone you love, whip up a few of these and cheers to how amazing you both are.
1 ripe grapefruit
2 ripe mangoes (you can also substitute frozen mango)
1 bottle of sparkling rose
Cut grapefruit in half and juice into bowl
Dice fresh mangoes or use 1 cup frozen mango
Add juice, mango, and 5-6 ice cubes to blender (if you’re using frozen mango omit ice)
Blend until you get a slushie like consistency add more ice if you need to
Scoop 2oz of mango mixture into a champagne flute or 6oz cocktail glass
Pop the cork on the rose and slowly pour 4oz into the glass
Garnish with a super cute heart straw
Cheers to your awesomeness and enjoy!
Makes about 6 servings depending on how much of a lush you are
